Parenting with Insight: My Experience with Designed to Align

Last week, I had the pleasure of experiencing something completely different, a Beyond the Behaviour Human Design session with Oyima at Designed to Align. And honestly? I’m still thinking about it.

As a mum, I often question whether I’m truly connecting with each of my children in a way that supports who they are, not just how I want things to run. But this session offered something beyond typical parenting advice, it gave me a deeper understanding of my child’s innate design and how we flow (or sometimes clash!) together.

A Surprising Look Into Our Dynamic

I didn’t know what to expect, but I was blown away by how accurate the session was. By simply providing both of our dates of birth, Oyima gave insights that felt spookily spot on and not just about my daughter Robyn’s behaviour, but also my own parenting style.

She explained why we work well together in some situations and struggle in others. It turns out, energetically, we’re quite different but beautifully complementary. For example, I thrive in focused bursts of energy, while Robyn is more of a consistent flow. When we’re aligned, we feel good in each other’s company. When we’re not… well, that’s when the head-butting begins!

Oyima’s Warm, Insightful Guidance

Oyima’s approach was one of the most reassuring parts of the experience. She was warm, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Through the session Oyima welcomed questions, encouraged examples and invited Robyn to speak about her own experience; which was incredibly empowering for my daughter.

Oyima made the entire session feel personal and safe, with a genuine enthusiasm for helping families connect better.

Real Tools for Tricky Times

What I loved most was the practicality. Oyima provided clear and actionable tips, like, how to help Robyn make decisions using yes/no questions, support her storytelling as a way to process emotions and even the types of food that might help her thrive.

For me, it helped me realise I don’t always have to “do” or fix everything. I’m a guide (especially when I’m recognised and valued) and that’s when I’m at my best as a mum. It was a gentle reminder to pause, reset and trust the connection we’re building.

Would I Recommend It?

Absolutely. If you’re a parent who wants to feel more confident in how you respond to your child (or just understand your relationship dynamic more clearly) then this session is worth it. It’s not about changing who you are as a mum. It’s about aligning with who your child is meant to be.

Parenting with Human Design provides clarity and helps me as a mum to see beyond the behaviour.
